You may be seeing strange things on the various pages of this web site if you are using Internet Explorer. Among these may be portions of the pages (usually at the top) being cut off and a Venetian blind effect at the bottom of the pages.

The web site hosting service we use for this web site has informed us that there are problems in displaying web pages created on their servers that are beyond their ability to correct. They originally told us that they use a third-party web site builder tool and have no control over how and when that tool is maintained or updated. Accordingly, this tool is currently unable to render web pages that can be properly displayed in any version of Internet Explorer higher than Internet Explorer 9.

They are now telling us that the problem lies inside the programming of Internet Explorer itself. If you use the most recent versions of Internet Explorer to view this web site, here are some suggestions on how to force the pages to display properly. Be aware that correcting these problems for this web sight may in turn cause problems when viewing other web sites.

It is our strong recommendation that you use another web browser other than Internet Explorer, as other browsers seem to have fewer problems with this web site hosting company. Internet Edge and Google Chrome, for example, seem to work fine.

Internet Explorer 10

While this HBLM web site is (improperly) displayed in your browser, click on the Compatibility Mode Button on the right end of the address bar. (The image looks like a piece of paper torn in half.) This will tell your IE10 browser to always display this site using its special feature that compensates for web pages designed for older browsers.

Internet Explorer 11

1. While this HBLM web site is (improperly) displayed in your browser, click once on the Address Toolbar that shows the web site address of this site (i.e., http://www.hblondon.org). When the entire web address is highlighted, press CTRL+C to copy this information into your clipboard.

2. Click on the Tools option in the browser Menu Toolbar. (If the Menu Toolbar is not displayed, place the cursor somewhere at the top of the page, right click the mouse, and select Menu Bar.)

3. On the Tools drop-down menu, select Compatibility View Settings.

4. Click to position your cursor in the Add This Website box, then press CTRL+V to paste the web address just copied.

5. Click on the Add button, which will move the critical part of the web address into the larger Websites You've Added to Compatibility View box. This will tell your IE11 browser to always display this site using its special feature that compensates for web pages designed for older browsers.

6. Click on the Close button.

7. You may have to refresh your display by clicking on the Refresh icon on the Address Toolbar (circular arrow) or pressing the F5 key.
